To celebrate the selection of Julie Wells’ film ‘Little Rocks In Northampton’ for the @beyondthecurvefilmfestival in Paris, here is a little about the design and launch of her new website. I have known Julie for a few years so I was thrilled when she commissioned me to design and build her site. Julie’s brief was for something elegant and minimal, and like Julie herself, the site had to be stylish and elegant. For the colour scheme, the brief suggested to me the work of Coco Chanel and so the colour scheme became a barely there pink and a violet-navy, inspired by the classic Chanel pink and navy pairing. I used Futura for it’s geometric simplicity and built a logo using Julie’s initials as the starting point. I am really pleased with the final design and thrilled that Julie is too!
