Artefact: Adornment

Exhibited for the first time by PRISM in 2017, Artefact: Adornment forms part of Ross’ ongoing Artefact series of work. Using foliage and vegetable material is always a gamble as the longevity of the work is unknown. Ross uses no preservatives in creating these pieces, which makes their survival all the more impressive with some of the Artefact series dating back to 2015. Here they are shown alongside receptacles, echoing Ross’ solo show at the Packington Gallery, London.

These pieces are on display as part of Still Life at the Leicester Contemporary and also feature in our book Artefact, available for £15 in the gallery or £18 (including UK P&P), which you can order by emailing us.

‘Still Life’ runs at the Leicester Contemporary, 16 Market Street, Leicester, LE1 6DP until the 27th of November. (Tues- Sat, 11am – 6pm). Many thanks to @leicestercontemporary @florencetrust @leicestercitycouncil The Company of Artists cic and @designseasonleicester and of course special thanks again to Steve and Yuka.
