Modern Eccentrics

I am very lucky to have two dear friends, Penny and Annie, who live in the Lot. I try to visit at least once a year, if I can, as I am always made to feel so welcome and it is such a beautiful area of France. Last year I wrote about Scott Thornley’s exhibition of charcoal drawings in Gourdon.

As photographers, Penny and I try to go out for at least one excursion with our cameras, and this year we walked along the river Lot between Bouziès and Saint Cirq Lapopie, on the recommendation of Malcom Lewis. The walk is supposed to take about an hour but with all our stopping and starting, it ended up taking us substantially longer! The towpath is carved into the rock, and at the end of the walk is a steep climb up to the beautiful village of Saint Cirq Lapopie.
