No Serial Number

IMG_4250Launching next week is the summer issue of No Serial Number magazine, featuring a six page feature on Ross and his artistic practice. In the interview he discusses his textile journey, starting with Creative and Experimental Textiles, an evening course run by Debby Brown at Morley College, to where he is today.

One of his key drives is a quest to minimise his environmental impact by creating his own natural dyes and inks and using found and recycled materials in his art. You can read more in the new issue which is available tomorrow as both a digital and a print edition. My new images of Ross’ work are also featured so we are doubly thrilled here at moderneccentrics.

To celebrate, on Thursday the 28th, the magazine is holding a launch event at R.A.W. Labs, Bow Arts. This will kick off with a mark-making workshop, run by Ross, using natural inks and homemade brushes, followed by a talk featuring Paige Perillat-Piratoine and Ross amongst others. Ticket’s are available here or catch the Live stream.

If you can’t make the event on Thursday, never fear, there is a full tutorial in the summer issue of the magazine. We will be running the 2 part full length version of the workshop in July and August at the CassArt Flagship store in Islington. The dates are the 19th and 26th of July, and the 16th and 23rd of August, and tickets will be available next week.
