In 2017, PRISM will be showing their new exhibition ‘Another View’ in two venues – at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in the May and again at Hoxton Arches in the October. Although using the same title, a different selection of work will be on show at each venue. This is the first time PRISM have exhibited in Birmingham, and it is a return to the Hoxton venue in London they used for Fracture last year.
‘Another View showcases a range of high quality fine art textile practices, from artists that offer a different perspective on the medium of fabric and thread, demonstrating the vitality of contemporary stitched textiles.’ PRISM
Each artist has interpreted the brief in their own unique way, promising an exciting and wildly diverse exhibition.
You will have the opportunity to join a selection of Prism’s artists as they give a brief glimpse into their textile processes. It is a chance to view what lies behind the work of some of these contemporary textile practitioners; a mixture of traditional skills given an experimental twist and new ways with needle and thread.
The show launches with the Private View and Open Day on Saturday the 29th of April and runs until the 13th of May.
